Insanely good graphics, fun puzzles, vertical gameplay
Poor viewing angles
If you’ve already played through games like Monument Valley and you’re thirsty for more then Mekorama for Android is just about the answer to your problem. Just about. This is a vertical puzzle game where you’re guiding a tiny robot as it stumbles upon these beautifully crafted mechanical dioramas.
I’ll probably say this kind of thing until I’m blue in the face, but one of my favorite things about this game is the fact that the tutorial is so short and sweet. It gives you exactly what you need to know and then lets you finish the rest of the level.
Most of the gameplay revolves around manipulating the level so you can then tap on various spaces in order to guide your little robot to its final destination. You can spin the level around to view it from different vantage points, and there are marked places on the level that you will also need to manipulate in order to create pathways for the robot to traverse.
Really, the biggest complain I have for this game is the fact that some of camera angles don’t offer a great viewing angle for the player, so you’re left guessing where the robot is or where you're trying to go.
Mekorama is another beautiful vertical puzzle game that gets a lot of inspiration from games like Monument Valley. I personally still like Monument Valley a bit more, but I think this game is great to jump into if you’re looking for more games of that flavor.
