Tower Knights for Android puts a new spin on tower defense. Prepare for a crazy fun battle in which you’re actually defending a tower rather than using towers to defend your base. You’ll need to destroy hordes of angry orcs using a huge arsenal of weapons, traps, floors and weapons.
Right up front, I’ll let you know that I had a ton of fun with this game. So much fun that I actually wish there was some kind of survival mode where you could just see how high you could build a tower. What makes this game so great is the amount of strategy you need in order to really succeed. In the beginning, you can really just brute force your way through to the end of each wave, but as you begin to grow your arsenal of weapons, you’ll realize that you need to pick your weapons in a smart way to succeed.
So, you actually play as a character and each floor not only gives you an extra layer of defense but it also gives you more space to work with. You’re really the first line of defense when it comes down to defending the tower, but you’ll soon realize you need help. You can get help by recruiting mercenaries to help fight you, but you can also add floor levels that will do things like shoot fireballs at enemies, and you can even summon a dragon when things get really hairy.
As you progress through the game, your character will grow stronger and you’ll be able to upgrade your floors and your powers. The game is split into levels, which I was a bit thrown off by since there really aren’t any levels, you’re just fighting more and more enemies.
Tower Knights is probably one of my favorite new tower defense games because it flips the formula on its head and is a pretty huge breath of fresh air. If you’re looking for something new to play, don’t hesitate to download this one.
