Review TAP SPORTS BASEBALL 2016
A fun baseball manager

Addictive stat-building quality, fun gameplay, good graphics
Taking turns can be a burden, cards don't go as in-depth as other games
I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a baseball fan or really much of a sports fan for that matter. Tap Sports Baseball 2016 for Android managed to make baseball a fun game for me, however. It combines aspects of games like NBA 2k where you collect various players with stats and incorporates real interactive gameplay to make things interesting.
I’m kind of a stat geek, so any game that enables me to manage a bunch of stats will typically have me hooked, and half of this game is about managing your team of baseball players. I do have to say that the degree of customization allowed in this game doesn’t really hold a candle to the 2K games. You don’t get an almost unlimited series of cards that progressively get better and better. Instead, you get cards that are simply rated from one star to five.
That said, the stats that each player has does make a real difference when you’re playing. Just because you have bad numbers doesn’t mean you’ll automatically lose against a player with better stats, and that’s because you’re not really going up one on one against any other player in the way you do the 2K games.
That brings me to the gameplay. When you play this game you’re only playing as the hitter. The pitcher you’re going against has stats that you’ll want to pay attention to, but your batter’s stats are what matter. You have to make sure you hit the ball and you get to see how things play out in real time. You also get to make snap decisions like whether or not you should steal third to make the long dash home when you might not make it.
Tap Sports Baseball 2016 is a really entertaining baseball game, even for someone like me who isn’t interested in sports. The game’s hook is something I think translates well to almost anyone.
