Can You Escape - Tower 2 for Android is a puzzle adventure game and sequel to the original Can You Escape. This one is set years after you escaped the wizards tower, but not it looks like he’s back to try and lock you up again! Why would you fall for the same trap twice? I have no idea but now you’ve gotta correct that mistake again.
As a disclaimer, I haven’t played the first episode of Can You Escape, so I’m not exactly sure how the sequel matches up to this game. That said, here we’re trying to make it out of a tower. I imagine that part is the same. Oddly enough, the game starts you off with a quick tutorial that sort of teaches you its logic. I haven’t played many games like this before, but I’ve never come across one that did something like this before.
Of course part of the reason I don’t play many games like this is because I don’t find them particularly interesting and this game is no exception to that rule. While the puzzles to seem to follow a linear line of logic, I never found myself guided by the nothing that I wanted to see just what lays around the next corner. That’s mostly because while there is a loose story associated with the game, there aren’t any major story arcs that compel me to move forward.
I think a game like Can You Escape - Tower 2 would do really well if there was some sort of story involved with propelling the character forward. Simply progressing from one room to the next isn’t really enough for players like me to stay interested in the long run.
