Review Dream Machine - The Game

9.7Excellent
Beautiful visuals, strong puzzles, virtually no ads

Dream Machine for Android might be one of the most beautiful looking games to come out since Monumental Valley, although that might be because the game does seem to take some design cues from it, too. It’s a puzzle game where you break free from the conformity of an oppressive environment and explore a vivid world full of possibilities.
Being able to think outside the box is key to completing this game. In the beginning, there were plenty of puzzles that stumped me just because I wasn’t accustomed to thinking the way the designer wanted me to think. That’s not to say that I breezed my way through the rest - quite the opposite.
See, the beauty of this game, besides the gorgeous visuals and immense presentation, is in the way the game continues to throw new puzzle mechanics throughout. So once you think you’ve got a good grasp on what you need to do in order to solve all of the puzzles, you’ll reach the next world where you’ll see something new.
Boss battles are another interesting concept thrown into the game, and while I found them interesting, I found them mostly surprising. Just the fact that they were there threw me for a bit of a loop. The ones I saw weren’t particularly difficult, however. I enjoyed them for the novelty, but they didn’t do much to add to the game.
Dream Machine costs a dollar, but it’s easily one of the best dollars you can spend in the Play Store, especially if you’re a puzzle fan. The game’s immaculate presentation along with the ever-changing gameplay really brings a seemingly unique experience to the player.
