Review Monster Hotel

Brandon Girod
9.3Excellent
Really engaging and dynamic gameplay, mechanics are fundamentally interesting, cute character design
Some later expansions are super expensive
I'll start this off by saying if you're a fan of management games then you should go out and download Monster Hotel for Android right now. You don't even need to read the rest of the review (though you should). This is a really atmospheric and just plain fun game. The art style fits perfectly and the gameplay mechanics are a nice balance of depth.
So this is a simple little game that puts you in charge of managing a hotel for monsters. What you'll be doing as far as that goes is actually pretty expansive, so let's break it down. You'll start off with four rooms and conveniently, four monsters will show up at the door. They'll have some icons above their head, but if you click on them, it will reveal some more information about their personalities. Each monster will generate things such as heat, stench, or noise, and they'll also require one of these resources.
When you throw a monster into the room, you'll want to make sure you put them next to a monster that produces or requires a resource that meets or supplies one of the requirements. This is because you want to make sure your monsters are happy. The happier your monsters are, the bigger the tip you get from them.
While you play the game you'll expand your hotel by adding new rooms or supplying your guests with more accommodations. Everything revolves around keeping your guests happy so that you can continue turning high profits and expanding. Monster Hotel was a pleasant surprise, and I highly recommend everyone check it out.
