A family friendly endless runner

Charming graphics, features good dinosaur characters, responsive controls
Uses tiring gameplay mechanics
Judging from the reception of the movie Good Dinosaur, I will say upfront that I’m leaving all of my opinions about that movie at the door. Dino Crossing for Android features these characters in a broken up endless runner. In this game, you’ll take a journey through the dino world, unlock new characters to play as, earn power-ups and more.
If you’ve ever played a game like Crossy Road then you’ll be able to pick this game up easily enough. The controls are all gesture based. You’ll tap the screen to move forward and swipe to move left or right. Surprisingly, I found myself moving left and right a fair bit more in this game than in previous games like it. This is mainly because I was chasing the game’s currency.
Currency is used to unlock new characters that you can play as in the game. As you’d probably expect, all of these new characters are straight from the show, but they’re purely aesthetic. There is nothing new you can really do with them, though it’s still a nice gesture. Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be any way to earn currency at a faster rate, such as watching a video ad or something like it.
Dino Crossing features fairly typical gameplay mechanics that you’ll find in most endless runners like it. The game’s strong suit is that it’s broken into small, bite-sized levels and there are checkpoints littered throughout, so it’s perfect for a younger crowd. It still maintains a good level of difficulty, especially in the endless runner mode.
