Great visuals, solid performance, good controls
Rewards are a slow grind, gameplay can be confusing
Twin Shooter for Android is an aptly named shooter where you're controlling two ships simultaneously as they destroy enemies in between each other. That's right, the enemies spawn in the middle of the screen and you have to use both of your ships to take them down.
My mind couldn't really wrap around what was going on the first time I jumped into this game. There are two ships that flank the left and right sides of the screen and you're controlling both of them. This means that you have to keep track of two completely different things as they're trying to dodge bullets. To make matters worse? Friendly fire is on, so you also have to make sure you're not shooting your other ship.
This proves to be an insanely difficult task because if an enemy ship flies into either side of the screen then you will lose instantly; likewise, if one of your ships gets hit then it's also game over. As you might expect, this means that you've got your work cut out for you when it comes to bob and weave, and make sure you're also killing everything fast enough.
My biggest complaint is the rate at which you acquire unlocks. The first one is free, but the second one costs 2000 gold, which seems like it would take anywhere between 12 and 20 missions... that's just for one ship. There are plenty others to unlock that will take even more time.
The fast-paced and hectic gameplay that Twin Shooter serves up is really fun, but it's also certainly not for everyone. I find the pressure a bit exhilarating but if you're someone who likes slower paced shooters then this one probably isn't for you.
